September 24, 2018 | New Managing Director of Max-AI

Bulk Handling Systems (BHS) has named Matthias Erdmannsdoerfer Managing Director of Max-AI. Prior to this new role, Erdmannsdoerfer served more than six years as President of National Recovery Technologies (NRT), a leading developer of optical sorting technology and subsidiary of BHS. As Managing Director, Erdmannsdoerfer will be responsible for the Max-AI product line including Sales, Business Development and Product & Application Development.

PepsiCo, Inc. today announced that its Board of Directors has unanimously elected Ramon Laguarta, 54, to succeed Indra K. Nooyi, 62, as Chief Executive Officer. Nooyi will step down on October 3rd after 24 years with the company, the last 12 as CEO. She will remain Chairman until early 2019 to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. Laguarta was also elected to the company’s Board of Directors, effective October 3rd. Laguarta will become the sixth CEO in PepsiCo’s 53-year history.

The KHS GmbH Supervisory Board has appointed Dipl.-Ing. Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing. Kai Acker as the new Executive Management Board Chairman, effective October 15, 2018. He will be responsible for the technology, development/production, and human resources areas.

June 28, 2018 | Alpla expands its board

Two new members will join Alpla’s board of management from 1 July: Klaus Allgäuer will become the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), while Walter Ritzer will become Chief Operations Officer (COO). Until now, the Alpla board consisted of CEO Günther Lehner, CCO Nicolas Lehner and CFO Georg Früh. Now, Klaus Allgäuer is joining the management team as CTO with Walter Ritzer joining as COO. "With these changes, we are taking proactive steps with regard to the generational shift at the top level of the company. We are also establishing an appropriate management and organisational structure in order to remain well positioned in the highly dynamic market in the future and ensure the growth of our company," explains CEO Günther Lehner.

Alwin Lehner, founder of the Austrian packaging solutions specialist Alpla, died on Tuesday evening at the age of 86. Alwin Lehner, born in 1932 in Bregenz, Austria, founded “Alpenplastik Lehner Alwin GmbH” together with his brother Helmuth Lehner. He led the company to international success.

After the acquisition of Denmark-based IceTech in 2016, Cold Jet has further expanded European production of its dry ice cleaning and production systems in Poland and Denmark. In addition to these facilities, Cold Jet has installed several technical information and training centers in Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Poland. These technical centers are open for customer visits, demonstrations, sample test trials and training sessions for new and existing customers and partners.

KHS in Dortmund, Germany, belonging to the Salzgitter Group’s high-growth technology business unit, announced changes to the KHS Executive Management Board concerning the Sales and Service division. As part of its Strategy 2021 program Salzgitter AG plans to further expand its technology business unit. In order to follow KHS’ own growth strategy while strengthening its inner performance KHS is implementing its KHS Future action plan.

Christian Traumann, Managing Director and Group CFO of Multivac Sepp Haggenmüller SE & Co. KG, is the president of interpack 2020. In the constituent meeting of the advisory board for the coming interpack he was elected president of this event. Since 2015 Traumann has been the chairman of the Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association within VDMA and already served as a president of interpack in 2011.

Today Holland Colours announces that Mr Coenraad Vinke (54) has been nominated as the new CEO, producer of colour concentrates for the polymer industry. He will join the company on the 1st of May. He will succeed Rob Harmsen, who has been in charge since January 2012. Coen Vinke will be officially appointed by the Shareholders Meeting, for which meeting further details will follow.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Niemeyer, chairman of the Executive Management Board at KHS GmbH, is leaving the company at his own request to face new challenges elsewhere. In his years in this post he has sustainably furthered technological product development, made an important contribution to significantly increasing sales and bringing about a number of considerable improvements for both the KHS Group and its customers.

As of September 1, 2017, Markus Kosak is the new project manager for drinktec, the trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry. Kosak was most recently project manager for the international drinktec trade fairs. He has taken over from Petra Westphal, who will remain project group manager for all drinktec events and, in future, assume direct project management responsibility for the international drinktec trade fairs.

Hannes Vorderwinkler was appointed authorized representative and managing director under trade law; he is now in charge of the Austrian production plants at Starlinger & Co. GmbH.

Thierry Fabozzi has been appointed president of Plastic Technologies, Inc. (PTI), a leader in package development and design, rapid prototyping, and material evaluation engineering for plastic packaging.

With Andrea Festelli, the Sesotec group, with effect from 1 April 2017, has recruited a new managing director for the two Italian subsidiaries. The Genoese-born Festelli studied electrical engineering at the university of Genoa. Before he moved to Sesotec, Festelli had worked for seven years for the Italian subsidiary of the GEA group, where he held the position of managing director, and before that headed up the service department. In the course of his professional career he has held positions in international sales, marketing, and R&D departments.

Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) announced today that Russell Broome will step down as Managing Director. Russell came to SPE in 2014 with a quarter of a century of experience in the plastics industry and as a long-term member and volunteer leader of SPE, including a term as President of the Society in 2011-2012.

Avery Dennison has strengthened its research and development capabilities with the hiring of Pascale Wautelet as vice president of R&D – Europe, Middle East and Africa within the company’s Label & Graphic Materials group. Wautelet, who will assume her new role on Sept. 1, will be based at Oegstgeest, The Netherlands, and report to Hassan Rmaile, global vice president of R&D for Avery Dennison’s Label & Graphic Materials group.

Alessandro Paini is the new General Manager of Sacmi Beverage, the company Division that, since 2009, covers all areas concerning the design and manufacture of machines and complete plants for beverage packaging. A mechanical engineer - and previously a key figure in a leading international Group that designs in-PET liquid packaging solutions - Paini has extensive Product Management experience. His past duties are ranging from coordination of R&D and global product portfolio management to development and implementation of new sales strategies.

The Supervisory Board of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft has appointed Martine Snels to GEA’s Executive Board with effect from the beginning of October 2017. She will assume responsibility for GEA’s regions and countries organisation. Following her appointment, GEA will be headed by an Executive Board consisting of five members.

April 26, 2017 R&D/Leverage, headquartered in Lee’s Summit, MO, announced the promotion of Mike Stiles to CEO. Stiles joined the company in 2000 as an Account Manager and was promoted to Director of Sales in 2015. He has been instrumental in helping to grow R&D/Leverage to a globally recognised manufacturer of precision injection and injection stretch blow moulds, and structural brand development for Fortune 500 customers in the rigid packaging, consumer products and healthcare markets.

The Engel Group, headquartered in Schwertberg, Austria, has appointed Markus Richter as chief financial officer (CFO) with effect from May 1st, 2017. He succeeds Klaus Siegmund, who left Engel in March.

On 31 March 2017, Patrick Peuch steps down from his role as Executive Director at Petcore Europe. Christian Crépet has been appointed as his successor by the Petcore Europe Board. "It has been a real pleasure for me to run Petcore Europe for the last four years since the start. With the continuous trust, support and contribution of our members, we have grown Petcore Europe to a reference model and a well-respected European organisation, acknowledging our open-minded approach and pro-active activities, our partnerships and relationships. It is now time for me to step down and to thank you all, and to express my best wishes to my successor," outlined Patrick Peuch during the Annual General Meeting of Petcore Europe.

Plastic Technologies, Inc. (PTI) has announced that Craig Robinson has joined the company as director of business development and innovation. Robinson brings to the company more than 30 years of business development experience in a wide variety of industries including packaging, orthopedic products and medical devices. He will be reporting to Scott Steele, president.
