The interpack alliance of Messe Düsseldorf expands into the Middle East Africa (MEA) region – its “pacprocess MEA” will be held annually at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Cairo starting in December 2019. The trade fair can count on broad-based support from numerous partners from business and Egyptian government organisations and/or associations. Sipa’s latest Open House in Italian Vittorio Veneto drew customers from all over the world for a first look at a line taking PET pellets to filled and capped bottles via Xtreme preform injection-compression moulding, latest generation bottle blowing, and Flextronic filling. They also saw a brand-new baby stretch-blow moulding machine, which is already up and running. The new Xtreme Sincro Cube system and the Xtra 14 SBM unit were put through their paces every day from October 22 to 26.

The trade fair alliance consisting of drink technology India (dti), organised by Messe München, and indiapack pacprocess and food pex India, organised by Messe Düsseldorf, recorded higher numbers of exhibitors and occupied more exhibition space. The fair’s further growth reflects the dynamic development of the Indian beverage and liquid food market, in which high growth rates are again forecast to climb.

BrauBeviale will open the exhibition halls in Nuremberg from 13 to 15 November 2018. The exhibition team for the world's biggest capital goods fair for the beverage industry this year made use of the scheduled break from the event’s three-year cycle to fine-tune the concept, ask around in the market and track down the hot topics affecting the industry so that they can be addressed in the next three-year programme. A comprehensive supporting programme aims to provide impetus for addressing all the challenges that the beverage sector is currently facing.

The 15th Global Bottled Water Congress will be held from October 22-24 at the Evian brand in France. Highlights will include a focus on sustainability, hydration, innovation, marketing and water stewardship, capped by the 2018 Global Bottled Water Awards at a Gala Industry Dinner. Participants of the congress will feature Chief Executives and Directors from many national market leaders as well as a majority of the top global producers.

With the 21st PETnology Conference, which will be held in Paris on 26-27 November, 2018, PETnology is charting new waters in connection with All4Pack, the international packaging trade fair. More than 2,100 companies from 121 countries gathered at NPE2018: The Plastics Show in Orlando, Fla. last month to make new investments and debut manufacturing technologies. NPE2018, hosted every three years by the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), concluded on May 11, wrapping up five very active days of commerce on the trade show floor and numerous new and returning educational programs.

Five winners trail blaze successful plastics recycling innovation — The winners of the first Plastics Recycling Awards Europe were announced yesterday at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe, held at the RAI Amsterdam in The Netherlands.

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), producers of NPE2018: The Plastics Show announced a 100-percent waste diversion goal for this year’s NPE, which will welcome more than 65,000 plastics professionals to the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando, (Fl) from May 7-11, 2018. The goal demonstrates the association’s commitment to sustainability and aims to exceed the 87 percent of waste that was diverted from NPE2015.

Amut and Erema are holding an Open House to present a sophisticated "Bottle to Packaging" process from 28 to 31 May 2018. Washed post-consumer PET bottle flakes will be recycled live at the AMUT headquarters in Novara, Italy, to make food contact grade thermoforming sheet in a direct process. This rPET sheet will be used at the Plast Milan exhibition – which is being held at the same time – to make thermoformed trays for the food sector. Interested producers will be able to process their own input material on the demonstration system in future to make plastic rolls. They can then test the samples later in their own thermoforming production to check the quality.

With packaging now moving to the forefront of public attention, even though the new sugar content levies are just coming into force, this year's UK Soft Drinks Conference on 3rd May in central London will address all the key issues of the moment. Its "Taste of the future" theme will focus on three main topics - health, sustainability and innovation.

At the trade fair Beviale Moscow, held from 27 February to 1 March 2018, 146 exhibitors (2017: 130) showed their products and solutions relating to beverage manufacture and marketing to more than 5,300 visitors (2017: 4,000), in an exhibition area of about 2,000 square metres (2017: 1,600). New elements this time were the programme points covering wine and soft drinks, which were very positively received.

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) announced official programming for the 2018 Re|focus Sustainability & Recycling Summit, co-located with the expanded Re|focus Zone at NPE2018: The Plastics Show. Once per year Europe's entire PET value chain meets in Brussels for the annual Petcore Europe Conference. Last week saw leaders from government, business and economics, celebrities and global media gather for the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos under the theme 'Creating a shared future in a fractured world'. Highlights for the Foundation included awarding $1 million to five winners of the Circular Materials Challenge, part of the New Plastics Economy Innovation Prize, and the announcement that 11 leading companies are working towards using 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging by 2025 or earlier.

The Open House event on November 20/21 had already been the second occasion as part of which Maag, Gala, and Reduction Engineering Scheer showcased their products together. This particular event centered around "Rotomolding" and took place at the subsidiary in Grossostheim, Germany.

The 2018 edition of the Global Blow Moulding Congress will take place on June, 18-20, 2017 in Cologne, Germany. The R&D/Leverage open house event included presentations on trends and developments in packaging design and mould manufacturing. Almost 50 attendees from global converters to brand owners attended the three day event, ran from September 20-22. The theme was "Breaking Down the Silos in Plastic Packaging" where R&D demonstrated that working with design, engineering, and manufacturing early in the planning process, fosters innovation and cost efficiency.

The first ever drink technology India in New Delhi got off to a flying start: the regional spin-off of the trade fair for the Indian beverage, dairy and liquid-food industry, together with the partner events of Messe Düsseldorf, occupied 11,000 square meters of floor space at the Pragati Maidan exhibition center in New Delhi during its debut event. Full house for the 25th birthday of the Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre: with roughly 1700 exhibitors from 35 countries and a fully occupied exhibition centre in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance, the Fakuma will celebrate its anniversary as befits its social status from the 17th through the 21st of October, 2017.

With over 76,000 visitors from more than 170 countries, drinktec has chalked up the best-ever result in its 66-year history. The number of visitors rose by 10,000 over the previous event in 2013. In particular at the international level, the trade fair was able to grow attendance again, this time by 12%. The ratio of visitors from outside Germany thus rose to 67%. The number of exhibitors increased to 1,749 from 80 countries. That is mainly attributable to the wine technology trade fair SIMEI, which was held as part of drinktec for the first time, as well as further growth in the number of exhibitors at drinktec itself.

A very special Open House was held from 4 to 6 September at the Sipa headquarters in Vittorio Veneto, Italy, where the unique direct processing of washed PET flakes to make food contact grade preforms was demonstrated live on the world's first PET Inline Preform system. The system will be in industrial operation next year.

Japan's largest beverage B-to-B show, covering the whole process of beverage and liquid food development/manufacturing, will take place at “Tokyo Big Sight” in Tokyo from June 28-30, 2017. The organisers are expecting 1,860 exhibitors and 63,000 visitors this year.

drink technology India, the trade fair for the beverage, dairy and liquid-food industry in India, is switching to an annual format and will be held at various locations in the future - every two years in Mumbai, and alternating between New Delhi and Bangalore in the years in between. The objective of these regional spin-offs is to address the beverage, dairy, liquid-food sectors and their respective packaging industries in a more demand-oriented manner.

The international event for the packaging industry and related processing industries interpack looks back to a successful 2017 event. 2,865 exhibiting companies were visited by 170,500 visitors, 74% travelled to Düsseldorf from abroad.

Following a global launch at Interpack 2017, Gebo Cermex’ CareSelect bottle infeed system has won the ‘Modular Machines’ category of the ‘Best Future Machine Award’ sponsored by Rockwell Automation. CareSelect is a patented universal and modular shaped-bottle infeed and collating system for robotic or traditional case packers, powered by Rockwell Automation’s iTRAK technology.

Chinaplas 2017 will be held in China Import & Export Fair Complex, Pazhou, Guangzhou, PR China on May 16-19, 2017. It will feature “intelligent manufacturing, high-tech materials and green solutions” with advanced plastics machinery, materials and technologies all found in a 250,000m2 exhibition area from over 3,300 renowned suppliers.

Interpack 2017 is recording the highest demand among exhibitors in its history of over 55 years. By the official closing date of this international event for the packaging industry and related processing industries, exhibitors had booked about 20% more space than was available at the exhibition centre with its 262,400m2 in 19 halls.

Intravis once again welcomes the plastic packaging industry to its International User Meeting. Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy, MEP and committee member for the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety will officially open the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRS) exhibition and conference taking place at the RAI Amsterdam on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 March. The free-to-attend event is the first to bring together businesses and organisations from across Europe’s plastics recycling sector.

Plastic Technologies, Inc. (PTI) is partnering with the global learning platform for packaging professionals “The Packaging School”, Clemson University, to help packaging and plastics professionals enhance their PET knowledge via an online educational platform.

This yearly event of plastics recyclers gathers around 200 attendees from across the whole plastics value chain including: recyclers, collectors, sorting companies, converters, raw material producers, brand owners as well as academics and decision makers.

On February 1, 160 delegates from the entire PET value chain from Europe and beyond convened in Brussels for the annual Petcore Europe Conference 2017.

February 27, 2017 | Chinaplas 2018 on the move

After year-long evaluation and analysis, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. has decided that Chinaplas 2018 will move to a new venue – the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Hongqiao district, Shanghai. Chinaplas 2018 is confirmed to take place at NECC from April 24-27.

In conjunction with the world's biggest beverages show Drinktec, PETplanet set off for an extensive tour throughout South East Asia’s PET industry all by road. February 21, 2017 | NPE 2018 Bottle Zone

The demand for plastic bottles continues to grow across numerous products and sectors, including home goods, personal care, beverages, food and pharmaceuticals. With the industry slated to grow 4.6% annually over the next five years, bottling has become one of the fastest growing industry segments in plastics manufacturing. Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) recognized this trend and is adding a new exhibit space - the Bottle Zone - at NPE2018, taking place May 7-11, 2018 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, USA.
