Cooperation between NGR and Kuhne is raising the level of quality for direct production of food-grade PET sheets made of skeleton scrap, sheet production scrap or PET bottle flakes. The integrated system consists of a shredder-feeder-extruder combination for producing plastic melt, the P:React unit for improving the quality of PET and the sheet system from Kuhne for producing PET sheets with tightest tolerances. Both PET sheet producers and thermoformed part manufacturers will benefit from the result.

For most PET converters, the overall market is growing whereas average bottle quantities per contract are getting smaller. This means a variety of different orders have to be produced within the same time frame, for example to include different neck types. To meet such demanding circumstances, increased flexibility is the only way forward.
For the first time at the Düsseldorf fair the compact line with the 24-cavity CCM compression press synchronised with the cap anti-tamper band slitter will be presented. The Colorarcap cap digital printing solution has now reached a higher level of development that allows coloured caps to be decorated too, thus exploring what some consider being the final frontier of digital decoration: unlimited colour development, ultra-high definition, yet also flexibility to ensure the right response whatever the customer’s production/promotional needs.

While most exhibitors at the fair expressed caution, some companies reported growth rates typical for China.
